Beltane:
and
a few thoughts
on the matter

Light-hearted dreams lead to an easy awakening.
"What are you doing up so early on a Sunday?"
An hour of pointy-eared hero cartoons and a good breakfast
is sure to warm overnight stiffness in little sockless toes.
Oak Park looks like the perfect oasis to raise tousle-haired kids.

Everybody knows everybody. Time to go to work.
And people have the general curiousity regarding the move.
Eighteen odd paintings of washing faces and teeth cleaning.
28.8 keebs: You have the best sense of timing, my dearest heart.

A formerly novel space has turned from awesome to possum.
Your stuff of wonder, of pictures and stories are bogged down.
"How may we serve you", tech serv drones say, twentyfour-seven.
I have something even better for the entry-level user.

Home is where crispy parts and roast pork make the best lunch.
Never expecting anything leads to some wonderful surprises.
My sometime-never favorite team is getting stomped by desert dwellers.
Time enough for a nap. Three hours later the sun has turned golden.

And shines into my sleep-washed eyes.
Coin toss: A Thousand Nights or a spoof of our alien-chasing heroes?
Forget about it, later into the evening and I've things on my mind
An hour ahead and our last communication was a bit muddled

The first of May comes in with the quiet of rain
A tiny green lizard by the name of Romeo, a pink pig who likes truffles
Come on in out of the cold: it's been a while since I've warmed you
Come on in and stay home, there are books and tea and a garden.
Here in my heart.
